At first, the animation appears as a still, wallpaper-like pattern. Over time, it begins to move and grow. Small disruptions introduce moments of the unexpected. The patterns gradually shift, until the scene transforms into another world. Flatfish form a new, living pattern before slowly drifting away.

During winter, the animation offers residents a sense of connection to the world beyond the day center. Familiar shapes create recognition and comfort, while subtle surprises invite curiosity and imagination.

The animation plays with scale, space, and perception. Using two screens, I explore symmetry and imbalance, as well as closeness and distance—from an underwater perspective to a bird’s-eye view. As these shifts unfold, viewers become more aware of the space around them, creating an immersive and quietly surprising experience.
